Dynamics of Switched Reluctance Linear Tubular Motor for Reciprocating Water Pump

Simple, cheap, and efficient water pumps are needed in developing countries. A reciprocating pump driven by a switched reluctance linear tubular motor with double pistons that can be supplied from photovoltaic power source seems to respond this demand. This type of new (one motion) is presented the paper. In order develop strong driving force at two extreme piston positions achieve long stroke, coil secondary springs proposed. Simulation results force, current, voltage waveforms obtained using MATLAB/Simulink presented. The electromagnetic forces inductances, which depended on current pistons, were determined FEM. compared those an experiment carried out prototype.
